Job Summary The Parts Counter Representative supports the Fleet division by assisting customers and technicians with parts sales, order fulfillment, and inventory management. This role is responsible for handling parts requests, processing orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the parts department operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive parts service to mechanics and customers, including answering calls, conducting counter sales, and delivering parts.
Manage the full lifecycle of parts orders, from receiving, filling, packaging, and shipping to maintaining and stocking inventory and performing physical counts.
Coordinate the receipt and staging of units for installation and contribute to all related procedures and processes.
Accurately record sales and delivery information.
Maintain general housekeeping standards within the parts department.
Operate a forklift for loading, unloading, and other necessary tasks.
Occasionally travel to customer and prospective client locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safe vehicle operation.
Comply with all auto safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
Perform additional duties as directed by management to support dealership objectives.
This role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure a smooth transition.
Requirements
1–3 years of experience in parts sales, preferably within transportation, fleet, or heavy equipment environments.
Ability to operate a forklift to load and unload pallets and when otherwise necessary.
Willingness to occasionally travel to existing customers and/or prospective client locations.
Adherence to all road signs and operation of vehicles within their limits and weather conditions during travel.
Ability to follow instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with Regional Managers and Vice Presidents.
Compliance with all auto safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
