Customs Specialist (NE)

We are looking for a Customs Specialist for our Perris, CA facility. The role involves drafting and checking customs and transport documents, managing transport declarations, coordinating tariff classification, and liaising with authorities and customers.
Responsibilities
Draft and accurately check customs, trade, and transport documents for technical processing.
Prepare and handle transport declarations (T1/T2), declarations for import and export, and other export documentation.
Control day‑to‑day operational customs activities including risk determination, administrative process control, and recording to meet compliance.
Coordinate independent tariff technical classification aspects, tax and non‑tax legislation (VGEM) for international and national customs matters.
Communicate with customs/tax authorities, transporters, and external customers about customs procedures and related issues.
Draft, apply, and supervise export documents via the appropriate organizations, written and electronically when assigned.
Keep up to date on changes in customs and tax legislation and report problems to the Customs Supervisor, providing solutions.
Advise internal operational departments and the customs management framework on customs‑specific information as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
University degree required.
Experience in drafting electronic transport declarations and import/export declarations.
Knowledge of origin and value provisions, customs laws and regulations, and export documents (CvO, EUR1, ATR) both internationally and nationally.
Flexible regarding shift work (evenings and weekends occasionally).
Ability to problem‑solve under stressful situations.
Customer‑oriented, quality‑conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Compensation DP World offers a market competitive compensation package. Pay rate: $24.
