Service Advisor / Writer Responsibilities
Greet customers promptly in the service drive and provide a welcoming experience
Listen to vehicle concerns and accurately write repair orders
Recommend factory maintenance and needed automotive repairs
Prepare and explain service estimates, timelines, and costs
Communicate clearly with automotive technicians regarding repair needs
Provide status updates to customers by phone, text, or email
Review completed repairs with customers at vehicle delivery
Maintain strong CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and customer retention
Schedule service appointments and help manage daily shop workflow
Service Advisor Qualifications
Experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or Automotive Service Consultant preferred
Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to explain technical automotive information in simple terms
Organized and able to manage multiple repair orders
Comfortable using dealership management or service scheduling software
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
