
Continuous Improvement Lead

Overview
Hourly manufacturing position in Woodstock, IL. The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead to work at our food processing facility in Woodstock, IL. Under the direction of the Continuous Improvement Coordinator and Process Owner and with the support of management staff, the candidate will follow these job descriptions as it relates to the job title. Successful candidates will own results for clean inspection and lube, centerline management system, 5S system, integrity of process data, and the KHMS maturity in the area. Actively participate in annual planning, weekly RCFA meetings, Daily Level 2 meetings and DPM meetings. Lead transformation analysis, centerline definition, and associated standard development. Develop control strategies to enable operators to respond to out-of-control situations. Lead root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the process. Coach teams on CIL, CLM, 5S, FSQ, and KHMS execution. Coach and develop teams by building problem solving skills within the process.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Facilitates the line loss analysis (waste elimination and yield improvement) and line throughput improvement plans by using data and analysis to drive improvements decisions
Able to execute the SBOS and QBOS when needed
Leads transformation analysis and centerline definition and associated standard development
Analyzes daily and shift line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities
Participates in internal audit programs, food safety committee, and sanitary design team
Spend time on the floor gathering information on stops, centerlines, and changeovers over the past 24 hours
Investigates initial root cause of top stops
Begin to develop a plan for the day for ownership areas
Attending and co-hosting the Level 2 meetings
Attending DDS meetings and providing constructive feedback
Discuss top stops and root causes. Establish countermeasures in planning for the day
Works with Process Owner and Maintenance Lead to address sporadic losses
Implement problem solving tools (5W1H, 5Whys, Fishbone, RCFA, PDCA) to eliminate chronic losses for the line
Manage DMS using digital platforms such as Power BI and CWP; provide actions and feedback when DMS needs to improve; create countermeasures for outages
Perform all other duties assigned by management
Comply with established GMP, housekeeping guidelines, and QRMP operating procedures
Assist in the implementation of the QRMP program and act as trainer of new associates
Flexibility to adjust to shifts to work with employees from all shifts as required
AM Step 2 qualified or demonstrate expertise in CIL, Basic Problem Solving (5W, 1H)
Participate and/or plan Base Condition Events for the ownership areas
Willingness to become Centerline Management System qualified within one month
Willingness to become Yellow/Green Belt qualified within one year
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking required
Prolonged periods on feet with repetitive actions; frequent bending and stooping
Working Conditions
Flexibility to adjust shift schedule to work with employees on other shifts as required
Indoor production floor; wet environments on primary and secondary locations; seasonal climate
Required PPE: bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs
Ability to work effectively in a multilingual and multicultural manufacturing environment
Expected Experience & Required Skills
Capable of learning intermediate Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, matrices and KPI skills
Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
Spanish, Swahili, or French language proficiency is a plus but not required; ability to understand and coach management systems including CIL, CLM and 5S
Able to create and maintain SOPs, OPLs, WIs, and troubleshooting guides
Capable of delivering training to operators and team members using Squint
Ability to effectively lead RCFA events
Education And Experience
High School Diploma/GED required
