Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a love for clear, accurate writing? As an Associate Copy Editor at Concordia Publishing House, you'll serve as a vital quality control partner in the creation of books and resources that support the Church's mission. Your careful edits will help ensure clarity, consistency, and faithfulness in materials used by churches, schools, and families around the world.

What You'll Do
Edit and proofread developed manuscripts for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy
Ensure content follows CPH house style and The Chicago Manual of Style
Verify facts, sources, and copyright information for quotes and references
Collaborate with developmental editors on substantive edits
Write or revise copy when requested
Review final pages for typographical and layout issues
Meet deadlines while staying within project budgets
Serve as a resource for house style and language usage when needed
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, theology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1+ year of editing experience
Strong command of English grammar and usage
Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
Excellent organizational and deadline?management skills
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in writing
Knowledge of LCMS theology and culture (preferred)
