Leasing Consultant

Salary:

$21 to $22 per hour

Schedule:

Tuesday–Saturday

Responsibilities

Coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals.

Interacting directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy, resident retention, and client satisfaction.

Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents; generate traffic, qualify prospects, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move-in paperwork.

Ensure model apartments are in touring condition and orient residents to the property; process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation monthly.

Maintain accurate, detailed records of traffic activity in the property computer system; follow up with prospective residents via phone, mail, or email.

Convert phone inquiries into scheduled property tours and coordinate move-in/out with the maintenance team to ensure move-in readiness.

Create and maintain confidential resident files, including reviewing move-in paperwork with new residents.

Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and on time; follow open/close procedures daily.

Assist with ongoing resident relations, addressing requests promptly and accurately.

Monitor competitive properties and inspect buildings/grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness; alert maintenance to repairs as needed.

Assist with processing work order requests and provide clerical support (phone, filing, and processing invoices) as needed.

May assist with planning resident activities to increase retention.

Comply with company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable laws (local, state, and federal).

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

High school diploma is required.

Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.

One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred.

Skills And Requirements

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.

Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.

Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; maintain confidentiality as required.

Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.

Ability to convey technical concerns with clear detail, quickly and accurately.

Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.

Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, copier, printer, etc.) and key track system.

Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to cope with and defuse difficult situations.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.

Must comply with safety requirements.

Must complete and pass Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
