
Employment Specialist

Overview
Compass Career Solutions, sister company to Dungarvin, strives to be the provider of choice for services that are personalized and enrich peoples lives. Our Employment team is responsible for providing client-driven case management services, which include identifying and eliminating barriers to employment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses. This role is not remote and involves daily in-office work and community outreach.
Responsibilities
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) and DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation).
Conduct assessments and interviews with clients to determine eligibility for employment services.
Provide clear, effective communication; document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members using reading, writing, and other communication skills.
Discover and maintain knowledge of clients, their employment goals, potential employer matches, and other case management needs.
Provide ongoing support to assist clients in obtaining and retaining independent employment.
Assist clients in furthering their career growth and skill building.
Document data and notes on progress toward goals, barriers to employment, and in service plans.
Establish and maintain strong community partnerships with other service providers and employers.
Represent Compass at professional meetings, community events, and to community members.
Attend and actively participate in scheduled internal and external meetings.
Travel throughout the area and provide transportation to clients as needed.
Use assigned technology (laptop, cell phone, and designated software) as directed in the community.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; bachelors degree in the social service field preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
One year of related experience and/or training working with people in crisis, specifically in employment services.
Valid drivers license, insurance, and access to a vehicle insured for you as a driver.
Self-starter with excellent time management and proactive problem-solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Technology savvy—MS Office and Zoom; PC and Android devices.
Good communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Ability to perform CPR/First Aid as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Bilingual Spanish/English required
Benefits and Compensation
Wage: $22.10/hour
Full Range Scale: $22.10 per hour - $23.95 per hour
(Future increases within the posted range are based on tenure and performance per Compass compensation guidelines. The pay scale provided for this position is based on title and geographical location)
Schedule:
Monday7 Friday daytime hours with flexibility for some nights and weekends
