ROLE DESCRIPTION Marketing Manager

This position offices in-person, on campus.

ROLE SUMMARY The Marketing Manager develops and executes digital-first marketing strategies that strengthen Valor Christian High School’s brand awareness, enrollment pipeline, and long-term audience growth. This role is primarily responsible for the school’s digital ecosystem including website strategy, digital advertising, SEO, analytics, and platform optimization.

As both a strategic leader and hands‑on practitioner, the Marketing Manager blends creativity with technical skill, data fluency, and operational discipline. Partnering closely with Admissions and school leadership, this role extends Valor’s reach to prospective audiences through effective, performance‑driven marketing.

The ideal candidate pairs strong interest with demonstrated expertise in building systems, optimizing performance, and using data to guide decisions within a mission‑driven, student‑centered environment. They are energized by discovering tools and platforms that help the organization work smarter, scale impact, and steward resources well.

This role provides strategic leadership and operational alignment for institutional communications, with a primary focus on translating established vision and priorities into effective audience growth, digital platforms, and performance marketing strategies. The Marketing Manager ensures marketing strategy and communications execution are coordinated, clearly scoped, and mutually supportive, without assuming ownership of institutional vision or day‑to‑day internal communications.

Lead Digital Advertising and Performance Marketing

Develop, execute, and optimize paid digital campaigns across platforms such as Google, Meta, and other relevant channels

Collaborate with Admissions to support lead generation, inquiries, event promotion, and enrollment conversion goals

Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rhythms to assess campaign effectiveness

Use data insights to refine targeting, creative strategy, and budget allocation

Establish Marketing Measurement and Insights

Define success metrics for digital initiatives and campaigns

Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision‑making

Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders

Ensure data integrity across platforms and systems

Manage an Efficient Project and Platform Pipeline

Maintain clear workflows and project management systems for digital initiatives

Coordinate with designers, developers, vendors, and internal partners to deliver projects on time and on budget

Ensure appropriate documentation and archiving of digital assets, campaigns, and reports

Collaborate Cross‑Functionally & Provide Strategic and Inspiring Team Management

Provide strategic context, prioritization, and alignment for the Communications Coordinator to ensure institutional communications support broader marketing objectives

Support and preserve the Communications Coordinator’s responsibility for serving current Valor stakeholders through timely, accurate, and missionally aligned messaging

Serve as a thought partner to leadership on emerging digital trends and opportunities

Develop and steward the annual operating plan and budget for Marketing and Communications

Produce Clear and Compelling Marketing and Communications

Uphold Valor’s brand standards for all school‑wide programs and products to preserve brand integrity through modeling, training, and accountability

Serve as the primary account manager for internal ‘clients’ requesting the services of the Marketing and Communications Department

Work as a supervisor and hands‑on collaborator with team members, contractors, and vendors to produce copy, graphics, photos, videos, podcasts, merchandise, etc. in full alignment with current brand standards

Provide oversight of and work collaboratively with the Retail and Merchandising Coordinator on the production and selection of merchandise for the Eagle’s Nest store consistent with brand standards

Serve as a Leading Voice of the School

Skillfully edit and/or create written pieces that beautifully convey the vision and mission of the school in a consistent voice, understanding the subtle nuances of Valor’s communication style

Oversee the production of the Valor Weekly by cultivating and curating news from around the campus while striking the right balance between featured stories, general updates, and calendar events

RESULTS The Marketing Manager will have strongly contributed to a robust and consistent pipeline of qualified participants for Admissions and key programs, contributing directly to the school’s enrollment and engagement goals. Because of the work done through this position, the Marketing and Communications team is recognized across the school for its creativity, expertise, and collaborative spirit, having delivered high‑quality work that elevates Valor Christian’s brand. Annual operating goals are met with excellence, with projects completed on time and within budget, reflecting disciplined execution and effective stewardship of resources.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a relevant field

6+ years of experience in marketing, communications or a relevant field

Experience in the nonprofit and/or educational sector is preferred

Demonstrated results from past campaigns, such as a portfolio or case studies

Experience in regulated industries or audience segmentation for families preferred

Skills and Software

Excellent relational skills in team management and collaboration

Excellent communication skills, oral and written

Strong strategic and analytical skills with a proven track record in developing multi‑channel strategies

Self‑motivated with ability to quickly learn new software and systems

Knowledge of working with both print and digital media, as well as collaborating with vendors such as printers, graphic designers, and photographers

High proficiency with website content management, building systems, and digital marketing platforms such as FinalSite (preferred) and BlackBaud

Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, SEO tools, CRM or lead tracking systems, and budget optimization in performance marketing

Proficiency with Mac computers, Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Drive, Calendar), social media channels, and customer data systems

Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, project management platforms (e.g. Asana or Trello), WordPress, social media management platforms, and AI‑enhanced marketing tools (for content generation or SEO) preferred

Courses and Certifications

Google: Ads Certification or Digital Garage Certificate

HubSpot: Email Marketing Certification or Inbound Certification

StoryBrand: Marketing Workshop or Equivalent

Comparable professional training in SEO, website strategy, analytics, performance marketing, or Meta Blueprint for social ads
