Position Overview
CBS Sacramento is seeking a full‑time multimedia journalist who will embrace our Community Journalism initiative. The candidate will have a proven and demonstrated ability to communicate comfortably, confidently and conversationally with interviewees and viewers, creating engaging content that meets CBS Sacramento’s mission of getting answers for our audiences on all platforms. They must be able to report scripted and unscripted news and features in both live and recorded formats, guiding viewers smoothly through accountability‑oriented journalism, breaking‑news situations and feature stories with words and pictures. Experience as a multimedia journalist is required.
Basic Qualifications
Prior on‑air reporting experience.
Strong writing skills and understanding of broadcast news and entertainment reporting techniques.
Multimedia journalist experience, including shooting, writing and editing voice‑over shots and packages.
Experience in live reporting.
College degree or equivalent work experience.
Compensation and Benefits The hiring salary range for this position is $70,000.00 – $80,000.00. The range applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographic locations. Starting pay depends on geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO, or other benefits as dictated by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
