Position Overview
Manhattan Day School is seeking a responsible Administrative Assistant to provide high-level administrative, clerical, and organizational support for the Director of Student Services. This role is essential to ensuring the effective coordination of services that support student success. The Administrative Assistant interacts frequently with parents, service providers, DOE representatives, requiring exceptional professionalism, communication skills, and attention to detail. Responsibilities
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for confidential student records, service plans, assessments, and documentation.
Assist with the preparation and submission of data reports, spreadsheets, and compliance documentation for special education, Section 504, and other student support programs.
Support the coordination of services related to special education, intervention programs, English language learning, counseling, and social-emotional support in accordance to IEP/IESP mandates
Communicate clear guidance on processes, documentation needs, and next steps with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure required documentation is completed within the required timeframes.
Perform data entry and general administrative tasks, such as copying and scanning.
Requirements
Proficiency with Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets), student information systems, and digital documentation tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in the handling of sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in K12 education settings.
Knowledge of special education processes, terminology, and compliance requirements.
