
Supervisory Business Development Specialist (Sales)

Job Title
This position is located in the Office of Channel Operations and Sales within the Office of Small Business (OSB). The incumbent plays a lead role in the agency's sales force in the field in promoting the full spectrum of the Bank's programs. Additionally, under the general guidance of the Managing Director of Sales, the incumbent also serves as a supervisor for one of the Small Business Group's field divisions, helping to coordinate and guide the work of other Business Development Specialists in the division. In the absence of the Managing Director or when needed, the incumbent carries out the full range of the Managing Director's duties and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
The position being advertised includes, but is not limited to: Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate professional and nonprofessional staff. The incumbent's administrative responsibilities include preparing the office's personnel, training, travel, and equipment budgets. Plans, directs, coordinates, trains, and manages the activities of regional staff who are involved in meeting with potential clients that are or could be a party to any U.S. export transaction within his/her assigned region or category. Plans, directs, coordinates, trains, and manages the activities of regional staff who are involved in educating clients in that area on the array of EXIM Bank and other agency programs available to exporters and importers of U.S. equipment and service. Provides guidance to clients regarding credit standards, country limitations, etc. from inception of a potential transaction until a well-structured and complete application is submitted to the Bank. Serves as primary public speaker on behalf of the Bank on underserved market and small business issues. Monitors qualified leads are followed up on in a timely manner by regional personnel. Works toward the achievement of stated numerical goals set by senior management. Utilizes Database Management System to obtain leads, follow up on leads, maintains file cases of possible leads and record status of leads. Management of client relationships through the customer relationship management (CRM) database related to the assigned market area.
