Commercial Partnerships Sales Manager
The Commercial Partnerships Sales Manager is responsible for the procurement of new commercial partners for Concacaf competitions and events. The ideal candidate must be able to lead the entire sales process from developing the sales strategy, identifying ideal targets, creating sales and negotiation documents, analyzing deal margin, and negotiating the partner agreement. Essential functions include prospecting, developing, and selling new commercial partnerships to meet or exceed sponsorship revenue goals; developing strong relationships with global decision makers at brands and key agencies; working closely with the Business Intelligence team to develop a comprehensive target list of prospective sponsors based on audience and reach data; delivering strategic sales presentations and tailored proposals to senior-level executives at prospective clients and agencies; collaborating with other departments to identify solutions to include in proposals that can help close deals that deliver value beyond monetary benefit; negotiating sponsorship deals from the proposal stage to the final contract; creating and effectively maintaining reporting documents in an organized manner; developing and tracking new revenue pipeline to present to senior leadership on a weekly/monthly basis; managing the relationship of external sales agents working on behalf of Concacaf; attending networking and promotional events to develop and nurture relationships with potential clients and professional partners. Specific job knowledge, skill, and ability requirements include a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sports management or related field; 5+ years of professional sponsorship sales experience in a high-performance sales environment; knowledge of the football/soccer industry, especially in the Concacaf region; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals; existing "decision maker" / C-suite brand contacts and strong agency relationships; strong business acumen and negotiation skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; must work effectively under pressure and with others to meet individual and department sales goals; proficiency with Microsoft Office; and the flexibility to travel nationally and internationally for the performance of his/her duties.
