Job Summary Job Description Oversee, manage and implement external integrated communications plans and projects, including media relations, public relations and social media. Serve as earned media expert and develop, implement and counsel around earned media strategies as part of integrated communications plans. Also help lead social media efforts, including overall organic social strategy, best practices research, social media ambassador program coordination and content development. Across all efforts, make strategic recommendations and ensure superior delivery of communication programs and tactics. As an active member of the corporate communications team, identify opportunities and tools to enhance Medline's external presence and reputation and integrate with internal communications as appropriate. Responsibilities: Lead integrated planning efforts with products, sales and marketing to help drive greater collaboration and deeper storytelling to elevate Medline capabilities and expertise. Serve as earned media subject matter expert, developing and implementing media relations plans and efforts. Leverage relationships with key trade and top tier media outlets. Arm spokespeople with key messages. Prep spokespeople with message and media training. Work with Director to oversee and strategize around organic social media, including overall social approach/strategy, competitor and best practices research, content development and editorial calendar planning. Also help manager social media ambassador program. Produce and/or oversee the conceptualization, design and implementation of communication materials including press releases, infographics, social media content and Newsroom postings, among others. Build best practice social media strategies into relevant external communications plans and programs. Contribute to Medline’s broader content and editorial calendar of the company’s PR efforts. Ensure high quality and strategic work from self and others this role may oversee on projects and programs. Supervise work of outside PR agency and freelancers as needed. Ensure ongoing quality of work, business alignment and budget is being met. Advise enterprise, senior sales and division leaders on ongoing PR and communications needs. Manage the resources and output of the external communications team (PR team). This includes being part of managing the annual PR budget and proposing budget for ongoing needs. Leadership Responsibilities: Typically manages through multiple Managers and/or Supervisors Oversee major projects/programs/outcomes Budget responsibility Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Requirements: Education Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. Work Experience At least 5 years of experience in the communications field to include developing communication materials directed to B2B audiences. Experience and expertise in earned media relations, including developing and distributing media materials, pitching reporters, prepping spokespeople and coordinating interviews. Experience in social media channels, particularly LinkedIn, and social media planning and content, including support of employee advocacy/ambassador programs. Experience managing content creation and workflow for corporate communications programs. At least 2 years of experience managing people and/or projects, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Communications planning and implementation experience (including the ability to integrate and coordinate various elements into an actionable plan). Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines. Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font). Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns). Intermedia level skill in AI (for example, using the company’s provided AI tool to streamline work and increase productivity and quality). The anticipated salary range for this position: $116,000.00 - $174,000.00 Annual The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
