Position Overview FOX 21 KQDS is seeking a dynamic, energetic Multimedia Journalist to join our team in Duluth, MN. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with solid news judgment, an engaging on‑air presence, and the ability to shoot, write, and edit compelling content across platforms.

What You’ll Do Gathering, shooting, and editing video for newscasts and digital platforms
Writing clear, accurate, and engaging stories for broadcast, web, and social media
Conducting interviews and producing professional, polished news reports
Verifying facts through interviews, research, and observation
Pitching and developing original story ideas daily
Building and maintaining community contacts and beat sources
Establishing a visible presence in the community and covering local events
Engaging with viewers and responding to community concerns
Reporting live in the field and in the studio
Representing FOX 21 at public events
Performing other duties as assigned by newsroom leadership
Requirements Skilled at gathering information and producing cohesive, visually engaging news packages
Accurate, responsible, creative, and accountable for the final product
Passionate about local news and community storytelling
Collaborative, communicative, and able to work well with others
Qualifications (Must Have) Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Proficiency with computers and video editing software
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Must be 18 years or older
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
