
Digital and Communications Associate, Community Aide (NCS) - Department of Finan

Job Summary The Department of Finance is currently recruiting for a Digital and Communications Associate to support communications and digital priorities of the department. This role will focus on writing, online publications, social media, content creation and public relations for the department.
Essential Functions Conduct research on the media landscape to identify public relations opportunities
Write first drafts of press releases and media pitches
Design first drafts of social media posts
Write articles for departmental internal communications
Develop a digital content calendar for the Department of Finance
Create and distribute media (photos, infographics) to relevant communication platforms
Create, edit, and publish content for social media
Minimum Qualifications Education: Journalism, Public Relations, Communications majors, or related field
AND
Experience: Have one (1) year of social media experience is preferred. Interested candidates must submit writing samples for consideration.
OR
Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Demonstrated written communication and project management skills.
Social media savvy and strong understanding of best practices
Ability to work independently on assignments and projects
Ability to conduct research
Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proficient in content creation software products including Davinci, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud
Additional Information Background Check: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.
Probation: All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory probation period.
