Position Overview We're hiring a Director of Brand Design to lead the brand design team across all of Scribd, Inc. This is a new role, and it comes at a moment when brand design is becoming increasingly important to how we build and evolve our products. Responsibilities Lead and develop the Brand Design team – manage and mentor a small team of brand designers, define standards, provide feedback, own career development and performance management, and contribute directly to design work. Build systems and scale brand design – develop and maintain scalable brand systems, templates, and guidelines across all five brands; bring consistency and quality to brand expression across product, marketing, and corporate surfaces; partner with Marketing and Product; build processes; identify opportunities to use AI. Strengthen cross‑functional partnership – work closely with Product Design, Research, and Marketing; contribute to the Design org’s broader strategy; represent brand design in cross‑functional conversations; help shape how the brand supports Scribd, Inc.’s evolving product strategy. Qualifications 10+ years of professional design experience with a strong foundation in visual communication and brand design. 5+ years leading or managing brand designers or production designers. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop designers while directly contributing to the work. Experience building brand systems, templates, and scalable design processes. Strong communication, presentation, and cross‑functional partnership skills. Comfort working across multiple brands or products simultaneously. Strategic thinker who can connect brand decisions to business and product outcomes. Application Requirements Resume. Compensation Base salary ranges: United States: $185,000 to $245,000 USD; Canada: $175,000 to $218,000 CAD. Total compensation includes a substantial annual performance bonus and significant equity ownership. Other benefits are detailed below.
