ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's Development + Strategy team is seeking a marketing and communications intern to support firm‑wide communications, campaigns, and brand initiatives. Under close supervision, this role will assist with integrated marketing communication efforts by conducting research, drafting communication materials, gathering and analyzing visibility performance metrics, monitoring industry and competitor activity, and helping to identify opportunities to enhance our storytelling and engagement.
We are looking for someone who is curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn how a collaborative, fast‑paced professional services firm uses marketing and communications to advance its business, strengthen client relationships, and support future growth.
Responsibilities
Draft, edit, and format content for internal and external communications (e.g., newsletters, articles, email campaigns, VHB.com, and social media), ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards.
Coordinate visual assets for digital campaigns and social media (e.g., graphics, photos, b‑roll, and video content).
Maintain and update digital platforms and communications tools, including SharePoint, Staffbase, VHB Engage, Microsoft Lists, email distribution lists, and community calendars.
Conduct research on industry trends, conferences, abstract deadlines, editorial calendars, and target audiences to support visibility and communication planning.
Assist with content collection, verification, and operational workflows to support recurring communications efforts.
Support additional D+S projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, English, or comparable field.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and InDesign preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team‑oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks with guidance in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers.
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and demonstrates commitment to quality.
Demonstrated ability to work concurrently on multiple projects and move them forward.
