The Planet Group is partnered with a privately owned EPCm firm supporting large-scale industrial manufacturing projects across industries such as food & beverage, chemicals, pharma, and consumer products.
We are actively hiring multiple Piping Designers to support major new-build industrial projects, including manufacturing and energy infrastructure initiatives. This is a fast-moving, high-impact opportunity with immediate hiring needs.
What You’ll Do Develop 3D piping models and layouts using AutoCAD Plant 3D Create isometric drawings, orthographic drawings, and BOMs Interpret and work from P&IDs and piping specifications Perform field walkdowns and measurements as needed Design piping systems aligned with industry codes and client standards Support facility and equipment layout development Coordinate with engineering teams and ensure deliverables are met Participate in project and client meetings
What We’re Looking For 5+ years of piping design experience (industrial/manufacturing preferred) Strong experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D
(highly preferred) Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and piping specifications Experience with: 3D modeling and piping layouts Isometric drawings and BOMs Piping supports and system design Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design or related field
Nice to Have Experience in EPC or engineering services environments Background in industries such as: Food & Beverage Chemical Pharma Industrial Manufacturing Experience with CADWorx, AVEVA E3D, or Smart 3D
Work Environment Hybrid (1–2 days onsite depending on office) Flexible schedule (7–4 or 8–5 typical) Some offices offer 4x9 schedule + half-day Fridays Business casual environment (jeans acceptable)

Compensation $55–$70/hr + Overtime (45–55 hrs/week typical) 6-month contract (likely extension; potential for conversion, not guaranteed)
