Position Overview The Business Development/Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth through new business development, account expansion, and long-term client relationship management. This role requires a proactive mindset combined with strong relationship-building skills to develop and maintain a strong client base.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with company revenue goals Identify and pursue new business opportunities across industrial, petrochemical, pipeline, marine, and environmental markets Generate leads through cold outreach, networking, bid platforms, and industry relationships Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and field-level client contacts Achieve annual sales and profit objectives for assigned territory Develop and present customized proposals and solutions to clients Assist with bid development and pricing in collaboration with operations and leadership Maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate forecasting Partner with operations to ensure successful execution of awarded work Identify cross-selling opportunities across all service lines - this is where the proactive thinking comes in! Provide reporting of pipeline, account activity, and territory performance Maintain knowledge of competitors, industry trends, and company services Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events as needed Support resolution of customer concerns, billing issues, and service escalations
Qualifications Years of experience in business development, sales, or account management preferred Experience in industrial services, environmental services, or oil & gas preferred Proven ability to generate new business and grow accounts Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented Ability to travel (50%+ or as needed) Ability to pass background check, drug test, and maintain a clean driving record
