Position Overview accel bi corporation is seeking a
high-caliber Program Director – Expert
to lead a
large-scale statewide cybersecurity initiative
focused on technical security risk assessments and penetration testing across multiple counties. This is a
high-visibility leadership role
requiring deep technical expertise, strong program management capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Lead and execute
enterprise-wide cybersecurity risk assessments
across distributed IT environments. Conduct
internal and external penetration testing , including vulnerability identification and exploit validation. Design and implement a
standardized assessment methodology , including templates, tools, and reporting frameworks. Oversee
security evaluations of infrastructure
including: Servers, desktops, and networks Firewalls and VPNs Identity & Access Management (IAM), MFA Patch management and vulnerability management processes Manage and coordinate
multi-location assessment teams , ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. Develop and maintain
project plans, timelines, and progress reports . Communicate technical findings clearly to
non-technical stakeholders and leadership teams . Identify and mitigate
technical risks
while ensuring alignment with industry standards.
Required Qualifications 7+ years
of experience in
cybersecurity risk assessments and penetration testing 5+ years
leading technical security assessments across enterprise environments Proven expertise in: Penetration testing methodologies Vulnerability assessment tools and techniques Security hardening and patch management 7+ years
of experience managing teams, projects, and deliverables Strong experience creating
standardized frameworks, methodologies, and reporting structures Familiarity with security frameworks: NIST CIS Controls ISO 27001 Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights
Preferred Qualifications Experience working with
government or public sector environments Prior experience managing
large-scale, multi-location cybersecurity initiatives Candidates
local to North Carolina strongly preferred
