Role Overview:
The Market Sales Manager - NYC is an entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership role responsible for building and scaling the company's refrigerant recovery and exchange business within the NYC metropolitan market.
This position blends business development, outside sales, field operations, and technician leadership. Initially, the focus is on market development and customer acquisition, with hands-on recovery work. The role involves owning operational execution, customer satisfaction, and full P&L responsibility for the local market. Success requires comfort being in the field, leading by example, and driving growth from the ground up.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary Range : $110,000 - $125,000, plus bonus compensation Location:

Core Responsibilities: Business Development & Sales: Prospect and qualify new customers for Recovery and Exchange programs Conduct in-person visits and follow-up calls to present full-service recovery solutions Convert inactive customers into full-service partners Track sales activities, opportunities, and recovery volumes in CRM Partner with customer service, sales, and finance teams on scheduling, billing, and follow-up
Leadership & Oversight: Recruit, manage, and support field technicians Set daily schedules, ensure job readiness (staffing, equipment, materials), and uphold quality standards Coach, mentor, and hold technicians accountable for performance and development Monitor technician productivity, recovery volumes, and customer feedback Serve as the primary field leader and liaison between technicians and corporate operations
Recovery Operations: Operate a small-format recovery truck and perform on-site refrigerant recovery Assist with cylinder exchanges as needed Ensure compliance with the company's SOPs, EPA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety protocols Submit work orders, BOLs, and documentation accurately and on time Represent the company in the field with professionalism and service excellence
Required Background & Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigerant recovery, or environmental services Proven track record in outside sales or business development Experience managing field service technicians or crews EPA 608 Universal Certification (required) DOT card required or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire Comfortable with physical labor, recovery equipment, and cylinder handling Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills Tech-savvy with CRM systems, digital work orders, and mobile tools Clean driving record and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
Preferred Experience: OSHA 10 or OSHA 40/SST certification (or willingness to obtain) CDL with HazMat endorsement Experience scaling a local service operation or startup-like environment
