Overview
A rapidly growing fashion company is seeking a Senior Designer with strong experience in Juniors and fast fashion to lead the design of day, club, and social dresses. The ideal candidate is a creative leader who can balance trend-right innovation with commercial viability, consistently delivering high-volume styles that resonate with the mass market.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full design process for Juniors’ fast fashion dresses, from concept and trend research through sketching, development, fittings, and final approval.
Translate runway, street style, social media, and cultural trends into commercially successful dress assortments tailored to a wide audience.
Develop seasonal concepts, color stories, prints, and fabric direction that align with business strategies and margin goals.
Collaborate closely with leadership to ensure collections support overall brand positioning and growth objectives.
Partner with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to build balanced lines that hit target costs, delivery windows, and quality standards.
Create detailed tech packs and specifications to ensure accurate interpretation and execution by overseas vendors.
Review samples and lead fit sessions, making timely, clear decisions to move product from development to production.
Continuously monitor the market, competitors, retail feedback, and performance reports to refine future assortments.
Present concepts, lines, and trend direction to internal stakeholders and external partners with clarity, confidence, and a strong point of view.
Mentor and guide junior design staff, fostering a fast-paced, solution-oriented, and highly creative environment.
Qualifications
Significant experience designing Juniors’ fast fashion dresses, with a portfolio that demonstrates both trend leadership and strong volume drivers.
Proven track record of creating best-selling styles and driving business growth through design.
Expertise in translating high-fashion and aspirational references into accessible, mass market product.
Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, prints, construction, and wash techniques relevant to day, club, and social dresses.
Highly trend-aware with an instinct for what will move at retail in the Juniors space.
Advanced sketching and CAD skills; proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills; able to influence cross-functional partners and leadership.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple seasons and calendars in a fast-paced environment.
