Account Services Representative III
Salary Range $27.50 - $34.80 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Summary
The Account Services Representative III will have a solid understanding of all credit union products and services. They will be responsible for providing primary organization-wide support for wire transfers, ACH, IRAs, trust and deceased accounts. They will assist management in providing training and serve as the subject matter expert on such accounts. They will be the "go-to-person" for questions or issues related to these products and services. They will remain current on applicable laws, regulations and updates regarding IRA's Trust and Deceased accounts. Why Provident? The ASR III will accurately review each exception entry of debit and credit transactions to independently make decision if item will be paid or returned; assess transaction details including Tran Code, SEC code and exception reason. Responsible for ensuring processing and decision making is compliant with NACHA regulations in handling of exceptions, returns, and disputes. Balance daily files transmission to Federal Reserve by required deadline; complete balancing and reconciliation of general ledgers for final settlement. Upload ACH files received from Federal Reserve Bank. Originate recurring ACH debits and credits to other financial institutions by accurately originating ACH transaction with appropriate trans code and account information. Responsible for reviewing and obtaining required authorization agreements and supporting documents to comply with ACH Operating Guidelines and required record retention. Timely respond to Notice of Changes received from other financial institutions by making corrections to the ACH setup. Timely respond to government reclamations of federal benefit payments including review of reclamation notices, completion of account research, and remittance funds to comply the U.S. Treasury's regulations. Assess Death Notification Entry notifications from Federal agencies; place account restrictions and notations to protect account from potential unauthorized transactions. Familiarity with navigating NACHA Rule Book and keep abreast of regulatory changes, system enhancements and departmental policy changes. Process domestic and international outgoing wire transfer payment requests, incoming wire transfer and administrative messages into the Federal Reserve and Correspondent Bank systems. Follow guidelines for processing foreign currency payments. (Dodd Frank) Perform member due diligence, adhering to the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and performing Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) checks. Communicate with Treasury Department to assist in monitoring daily Federal Reserve balance. Perform end of day balancing with Federal Reserve, Correspondent Bank and Core system. Assist members in opening IRA, HSA and trust accounts. Handle IRA transfers and rollover request received from members. Process, completes and/or reviews IRA transactions, forms and distributions; coordinates and approves IRA tax reporting; responds to staff questions related to IRA account matters; and assists in developing staff training related to IRA accounts. Process Death claims. Research and response to Accounting reconciliation questions. Assist in any product validation and auditing. Successful completion of required certification as appropriate to role. Handle telephone calls, online banking e-mail and mail-in requests. Serve as a resource for other department such as Contact Center and Branches. Maintain a working knowledge of Provident Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensures confidentiality of member information. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out Provident Credit Union's mission and vision. Willingness to assist in staffing other areas of the department as needed. Available to work weekends and/or extended hours required to run the business, including special events as they occur. Attend meetings as required. Alert and assist Risk Management with fraud or suspicious transactions. Education: * College degree or equivalent work experience or College level courses (or equivalent directly related work experience). Work Experience : * 3+ years of related experience. * 1+ year(s) check handling experience * 2+ years customer service experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Effective oral and written communication skills required to ensure an exceptional member experience.
