Job Description: Position: Clerk Department: Superior 2 and Superior 3 Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Non-exempt Hourly Rate: $22.1135 per hour Incumbent serves as Clerk for Superior Court 2 and Superior Court 3, responsible for assisting Court Staff with daily tasks as assigned. Duties: Assists with preparing for court hearings, including printing court calendar from computer. Scans court entries into the computer system. Picks up and delivers mail throughout courthouse. Performs duties of Receptionist in his/her absence and assist other Court Staff as assigned or as needed. Performs related duties as assigned. Job Requirements and Difficulty of Work: High school diploma or HSE. Working knowledge of standard office and court policies, procedures, and related terminology, and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated tasks. Ability to properly operate a variety of standard office equipment, including computer, printer, telephone, and copier. Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities. Ability to work on several tasks at the same time and complete assignments effectively amidst frequent distractions and interruptions. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions/directions and appropriately respond to constructive criticism. Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons. Ability to comply with all employer/department personnel policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct. Ability to work alone and with others in a team environment with minimal supervision and maintain appropriate, respectful interrelationships with co-workers. Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information/records according to state requirements. Responsibility: Clerk performs standard, recurring duties according to well-established department policies and procedures. Receives indirect or occasional supervision, with priorities determined primarily by Office Administrator in Superior 2 and 3. Errors in accuracy of work are readily detected by procedural safeguards or through supervisory review of work. Undetected errors may result in loss of time within the department and/or inconvenience to department employees or members of the public. Personal Work Relationships: Incumbent maintains frequent contact with co-workers, other County departments, and the public for the purpose of exchanging information. Incumbent reports directly to Office Administrators in Superior 2 and Superior 3. Physical Effort and Work Environment: Clerk performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting for long periods, close vision, hearing communication, speaking clearly, bending, reaching, and keyboarding.
