Important: This Is a Field‑Based Outside Sales Role
This position is focused on growing wholesale business with independent footwear retailers across New England. It is not a retail store role and not an inside sales position. Candidates without footwear or apparel wholesale experience and existing retail relationships will not be considered.
Territory
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Upstate New York. Candidates must reside in or have strong, active relationships within this region.
What This Role Requires
Existing relationships with independent footwear retailers in New England.
Experience presenting and selling footwear or apparel collections in person.
Strong understanding of pre‑book cycles, inventory flow, and sell‑through.
Ability to both maintain accounts and aggressively open new ones.
Key Responsibilities
Travel throughout the territory to meet with independent retailers.
Present seasonal collections and secure orders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with store owners and buyers.
Open new accounts and expand existing business.
Drive sales, inventory flow, and sell‑through performance.
Analyze key retail metrics (turn, WOS, sell‑through).
Train retail staff on product features and merchandising.
Represent Spring Footwear at trade shows and market appointments.
Collaborate on territory planning, forecasting, and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications (Required To Be Considered)
5+ years of outside sales experience in footwear or apparel wholesale.
Active relationships with independent retailers in New England.
Experience managing a multi‑state territory.
Proven ability to generate new business (hunter mindset).
Willingness to travel regularly and work in the field.
Preferred
Comfort footwear or specialty footwear experience.
Independent (1099) rep background.
Existing fashion brand relationships.
