Northstar Church | Northstar KiDS Northstar Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and organized leader to serve as our Preschool Ministry Director. This role provides leadership and care for our preschool ministry (birth–Pre-K) while helping families build strong spiritual foundations for their children.

The Preschool Ministry Director plays a key role in creating safe and engaging environments where young children experience God’s love and families feel supported and encouraged.

Position Overview The Preschool Ministry Director oversees all aspects of preschool ministry including Sunday environments, volunteer leadership, family care, and parent partnership. This individual will equip volunteers, build relationships with families, and create systems that help preschoolers begin their faith journey.

This position is a full-time hourly position (36+ hour per week) and reports to the Family Ministry/Kids Ministry leadership.

In addition to leading the preschool ministry, this role is an important part of the Northstar staff team. The Preschool Ministry Director will actively participate in staff life by contributing to a healthy team culture, collaborating with other ministries, and engaging in ongoing leadership development.

Key Responsibilities Sunday Preschool Ministry Plan, coordinate, and oversee preschool environments during Sunday services. Ensure all classrooms are safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate. Prepare and organize curriculum, activities, crafts, and snacks. Lead volunteer team huddles and provide encouragement and support during services. Connect with families during drop-off and pick-up and help answer questions. Volunteer Leadership Recruit, train, schedule, and care for preschool volunteers. Equip volunteers to lead small groups and create meaningful faith experiences for preschoolers. Build a healthy volunteer culture through encouragement, appreciation, and leadership development. Family Care & Discipleship Build relationships with preschool families and support parents as primary disciplers. Follow up with new families and first-time guests. Connect with expecting and new moms through encouragement and care. Provide resources that help families talk about faith at home. Ministry Operations Maintain preschool classrooms, supplies, and ministry environments. Coordinate curriculum preparation and weekly classroom resources. Maintain volunteer schedules and ministry records. Oversee preschool resources including supplies, snacks, and classroom materials. Special Events & Milestones Oversee Baby Dedication services and connect with participating families. Help create opportunities for preschool families to build relationships within the church. Support church-wide events that provide childcare as needed. Staff Team Participation Actively contribute to the health and unity of the Northstar staff team. Participate in All Staff Meetings, ministry collaboration meetings, and staff gatherings. Engage in ongoing leadership development opportunities provided by the church. Collaborate with other ministry leaders to support the overall mission and vision of Northstar Church. Model a positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach to ministry.

Qualifications Passion for helping young children experience God’s love. Heart for partnering with parents in the spiritual development of their children. Strong relational and leadership skills. Ability to organize systems, schedules, and volunteers effectively. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a church staff team. Experience working with children or in children’s ministry preferred.
