Regulatory Affairs Associate

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for the position of
Regulatory Affairs Associate
will primarily be responsible for global product regulatory compliance, hazard communication and life cycle management support activities for Materials Resource Division and the businesses supported by MRD.
Primary Responsibilities:
Creating, managing and maintaining Hazard Communication documents including Safety Data Sheets and labels for new and existing internal materials and commercial products
Assisting 3M global customers with their product EHS&R inquiries including regulated lists, RoHS/WEEE, REACH/SVHC, global inventories, local, state, federal and global regulations
Assisting MRD supported businesses with their life cycle management needs
Assisting with TSCA compliance activities including document maintenance
Working with manufacturing sites to obtain formulation, composition and regulatory information
Performing routine regulatory tasks for new and existing materials and products
Providing support for new product introduction activities, including management of change activities and run requests
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university (completed and verified prior to start)
Minimum of three (3) years of combined chemistry experience in a private, public, government and/or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Technical or Life Science focused degree from an accredited university
3M experience
Experience in product EHS&R, including OSHA Hazard Communication, US and global chemical control laws
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Project management experience
Ability to work well in diverse teams
Flexible with a high degree of personal integrity and motivation
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

This role follows an on‑site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel:
May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation:
Is not authorized

Pay & Benefits Overview:
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 – $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible. This range may vary based on factors such as relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location and experience. The position may be eligible for a range of benefits, including Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits.
