Join a Top 10 global integrated design firm in our Houston Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the Commercial/Mixed Use sector. Our Houston office is seeking a Design Coordinator to join our Buildings practice. The successful candidate will have experience with large and complex projects within this sector.
Your Key Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization, and directing of the work throughout the life cycle of the project.
Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Experience with creating construction project documents in all Revit phases.
Assists interpreting and applying building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections and details.
Participates in bidding and negotiation phase and prepare addenda.
Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.
Assists in project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and sub-contractors.
Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
Visit project sites and with clients as necessary.
Assists in the preparation of the project specifications. Coordination of specs with construction documents.
Participates in constructability review.
Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
Assists in preparing and ensuring that work conforms to project budget, schedule, and overall work planning.
Ability to work well under pressure, juggle, and prioritize multiple projects and adjust accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
