Strada, a multi‑disciplinary design firm, is seeking an experienced interior designer for our Chapel Hill, NC studio.
Our cross‑disciplinary approach to design is immersive, human‑centric, and diverse. We actively leverage the expertise and talents from the variety of disciplines within our three studios to achieve exceptional results for our clients. We look for individuals who are talented and passionate about their work. We help you cultivate your talents as part of the design team.
Designers should have a degree in Interior Design with NCIDQ certification, or an Interior Architecture degree from a CIDA‑ or NAAB‑accredited school. We seek individuals with a strong and matured design capability interested in sharing their talent with others at Strada. We would love to know about your other life interests, hobbies, passions, and talents as we find these attributes contribute to our design culture.
We’re in the studio Tuesday through Thursday because we do our best work through in‑person collaboration. Mondays and Fridays remain flexible to support focused, heads‑down time.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute interior design services through all phases, including FF&E
Independently lead select projects and contribute to larger team‑based projects
Build and maintain strong client relationships and industry connections
Participate in collaborative design processes with other Strada design professionals
Research materials and systems for integration in design solutions
Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines while responding to changing needs and schedules
Detail projects in a creative and constructible manner
Produce and oversee presentations
Stay current on design trends and emerging technologies
Manage the materials library and vendor relationships, while ensuring its continued evolution
Mentor junior team members
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a design firm
Strong design sensitivity
Facility with BIM Software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with and coordinate engineering consultant services
Proactive, resourceful self‑starter who can multi‑task
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience at managing in‑house multi-disciplinary design teams a plus
Sustainable design experience and/or certifications a plus
