Trade Compliance Specialist
who supports the enterprise by providing guidance and direction to ensure business unit transactions are compliance with all applicable U.S. import laws (CBP) and export regulations (BIS).
This is an in‑office position based in Long Beach, CA.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee product HTS/ECCN classification, valuation, and country of origin determinations
Ensure compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations and related documentation
Manage and track export authorizations
Create import & export compliance procedures aligned with CBP, ITAR, and EAR regulations
Prepare and submit export licensing activities, exemptions and exceptions
Perform compliance assessments of export/import authorizations and related transactions and assist in any investigations of potential compliance issue
Conduct internal audits and risk assessments, implement corrective action plans
Educate internal stakeholders through training, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor changes in regulations, recommend process changes when needed
Qualifications
5 years of experience in import and export compliance, defense experience a plus
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
License Customs Broker required
Strong understanding of regulations; HTS/ECCN classification
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Proficient level with Excel understanding data and creating reports
Experience with ACE, Epicor, etc
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
