As a banker within the Inclusive Banking team, you will be the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with diverse businesses across the market, working closely with the National Head of Diverse Businesses and in concert with the Segment Head, Region Manager, and Market Executives. You will be responsible for leading customer-focused diversity efforts and identifying, growing and retaining profitable relationships within the Commercial Bank & Specialized Industries target space. You will be expected to drive growth in calling activity and opportunity pipeline across the market while regularly participating alongside bankers in client/prospect meetings.
You will be required to have deep working knowledge of our solutions including, but not limited to: Credit, Treasury Services, International Banking, Syndicated Finance, Commercial Card and Chase Paymentech Solutions. Our strongest Bankers have a methodical approach to the market activity and prospecting.
Job Responsibilities As the primary resource leading engagement with diverse-owned businesses, you will also have the following responsibilities across the segment:
Identify, analyze, and prioritize top opportunities in the segment; work alongside banking teams to execute across prioritized pipeline with a particular focus to VIP names and top opportunities
Assemble proper deal teams and key resources internally to support banker engagement and participate in diversity-focused speaking engagements on behalf of the firm
Regularly participate in client/prospect pitches and presentations
Collaborate and coordinate with other LOBs and banking teams as opportunities demand; serve as primary liaison with Supplier Diversity for the segment
Spearhead diversity-focused events across the segment and educate bankers within the market on CB’s diversity strategy
Become a subject matter expert on regulatory practices related to Fair Lending
Review calling activity and community engagement efforts across the market to identify trends and growth opportunities
Surface client issues that materialize to Market Executives, Region Manager, and National Head of Diverse Businesses as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Typically a minimum of seven years direct lending or credit support related experience, with a focus on business relationships
Robust understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
Knowledgeable around specific pillars and strategy of Community Impact Banking
Comprehensive knowledge of the local markets
Proven ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals; proven top individual contributor
High level of emotional intelligence (EQ), including ability to balance nuanced perspectives, connect with and persuade various stakeholders, and manage executive relationships internally and externally
Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training preferred
Strong creative solution and problem-solving abilities and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training preferred
Strong creative solution and problem-solving abilities and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
