Position Summary Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is seeking a highly motivated and experienced interim Assistant Director of Purchasing to support and oversee procurement operations during a transitional period. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless purchasing operations, maintaining compliance with Hyatt and Avendra standards, and driving cost control initiatives—particularly within Food & Beverage. The leader will partner closely with the Executive Chef, Director of Finance, and operational teams to uphold the resort’s luxury standards while identifying efficiencies and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Director of Purchasing in overseeing all procurement functions for the resort

Ensure full compliance with Hyatt purchasing policies, audit standards, and internal controls

Serve as the hotel’s BirchStreet Administrator, ensuring adherence to requisition, purchase order, and inventory processes

Drive Avendra compliance, maximizing program participation, cost savings, and rebate performance

Act as primary liaison with the Avendra Account Manager

Operations, Receiving & Inventory Management

Oversee daily operations of the loading dock, receiving, and storeroom areas, ensuring exceptional organization, cleanliness, and efficiency

Maintain strict storeroom security, product rotation, and par level accuracy

Ensure quality control at the point of delivery, upholding luxury brand standards

Lead and coordinate quarterly inventory processes

Serve as Dock Master, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and operational flow

Financial Performance & Cost Control

Partner with the Executive Chef and Finance team to drive Food & Beverage cost controls and achieve budgeted targets

Monitor purchasing patterns and inventory levels to identify cost‑saving opportunities and reduce waste

Support initiatives to optimize inventory levels, including reducing excess beverage inventory

Ensure compliance with purchase order policies and contribute to accurate financial reporting

Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to support cost improvement initiatives and evolving operational needs

Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, consistency, and competitive pricing

Continuously identify new and innovative products to enhance the resort’s offerings, including seasonal and outlet‑specific initiatives

Beverage Program Support

Act as a key liaison between beverage representatives, operational leadership, and the DOO

Collaborate with vendors to secure favorable pricing, promotions, and allocations

Support planning and execution of beverage activations and programming throughout the year

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Report to the Executive Chef with a dotted‑line relationship to the Director of Finance

Partner with all departments to support sourcing needs and ensure timely procurement of goods

Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing and receiving colleagues, ensuring consistency and accountability

Qualifications

3–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment

Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Experience with Avendra and BirchStreet systems highly preferred

Strong understanding of Food & Beverage operations and cost control practices

Excellent organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills

Ability to adapt quickly and lead effectively in an interim capacity

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
