Associate Director of Waiver Services Position Overview: Leads Community Services by directing and coordinating activities that are consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies. Ensures services are implemented in alignment with strategic goals for mission achievement, growth, and profits. Provides direction and structure for operating units.

Governmental

Provide consultation and support to agency staff and other community programs regarding the interpretation of service‑related federal, state, and county regulations and policies with direction from the Director of Waiver Services.

Community & Public Relations

Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: community members, individuals served, families, and potential customers & donors.

Identify, initiate, and develop interagency collaborations to meet community and organizational needs.

Speak to community groups to explain and interpret agency purpose, services, and policies as part of overall marketing and development activities.

Research and analyze client input or community needs to determine program directions and goals for assigned region’s residential and community services.

Operational: Assist Director of Waiver Services to…

Develop, administer, and monitor departmental budgets.

Facilitate and collaborate for employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer within departments managed.

Oversee and monitor departmental activities of professionals, technical staff members, and volunteers.

Assist HR in the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff training programs.

Approve or provide technical assistance for specific job duties listed in the job descriptions of service teams.

Prepare, review, analyze, and maintain records, directives, and reports regarding departmental activities.

Confer with service personnel to obtain data required for planning departmental activities.

Assign or delegate responsibility for functional activities and disseminate policy to department heads and direct service personnel.

Ensure timely completion of departmental deadlines and work through coaching, direction, problem resolution, scheduling, and establishment of deadlines.

Ensure an appropriate system for completion and monitoring of "best practice" and required training.

Support efforts to implement the individual choices and preferences of each client.

Ensure compliance with agency mission, vision, accreditation standards, contracts, and grants.

Establish metrics and evaluate the work of teams to ensure that services meet established internal and external quality standards and resources are used effectively.

Coordinate departmental activities with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy.

Team Support & Development

Provide consultation & feedback to team on best practices for all services delivered.

Coordinate or provide services for team members as needed to maintain continuity of service delivery.

Facilitate team brainstorming sessions and conflict resolution.

Facilitate organization’s review process and 360 feedback process.

Coordinate the development and evaluation of individual and team annual outcomes.

Ensure proper coordination of hiring procedures on a regional level, utilizing Human Resources’ input and support.

Address performance issues with team members and consult with Human Resources Director when disciplinary action or termination is indicated according to SIRS Disciplinary Procedures and Performance Appraisal & Documentation Policies.

Ensure team utilizes systems in place to adhere to state, federal, and local regulations, corporate strategic goals, and accreditation requirements.

Regularly meet with team to support the accomplishment of established outcomes.

Work in collaboration with SIRS staff to implement SIRS vision and mission in service delivery, focusing on LifeCourse strategies to ensure individuals served are supported to live their best life.

Qualifications

The Associate Director will be thoroughly committed to SIRS, Inc.’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have proven organizational and collaboration capabilities. Specific qualifications include:

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of vehicle insurance

Must pass a drug screening and comprehensive background check

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree preferred. Three years’ experience in management and working with individuals with disabilities required.

CPR & First Aid Certification
