Aladdin Business Management Director

Job Description The role of the Lead NA Aladdin Business Manager is to drive strategic projects on Aladdin, our Order Management System, and manage the relationship with Aladdin for Columbia Threadneedle Investments. While the focus of the role is North America, you will be part of a globally aligned team. The primary focus is supporting Investments, however the overall ownership of the relationship also sits within the Aladdin Business Management team. The role will involve key weekly touch points with Aladdin on projects and production level escalations. It will also involve senior stakeholder interaction to facilitate project momentum and priority re-alignment. The role includes operational oversight of the structure of Aladdin access and permissions across the organization. You will also be responsible for deepening the use and depth of Aladdin across the organization through staying close to new functionality and bringing the relevant teams up to speed on relevant elements of the toolset. A close partnership with Aladdin means future products on Aladdin will be shaped by our organization’s requirements and bring continued increased utility and ease of access through Aladdin centrally for our Portfolio Managers and the wider organization.

Responsibilities

Project Management of projects relating to the roll out of new Aladdin functionality and tools, with an aim to decommission internal and off Aladdin systems that can be directly embedded in Aladdin as new functionality is developed

Leading meetings with Aladdin to manage the Investments Book of work on Aladdin

Coordination and oversight of the Global Book of Work of our organization’s priority enhancements and projects alongside the wider team

Attending and contributing on Executive meetings, where prioritization and escalations are coordinated

Obtain a deep understanding of challenging workflows for our Investment teams that can be embedded further or automated via Aladdin. Proactively self‑identify new projects of this nature, through close engagement with Portfolio Managers

Work closely with stakeholder business areas to understand priorities across both day‑to‑day inquiry and projects, taking into consideration the holistic business area and communicate to Aladdin accordingly

Oversight of the Aladdin access and permission structure and ensure adherence to audit reviews and controls, alongside the wider team:

Involvement in quarterly reviews of Aladdin permissions and access across the firm

Ongoing project work to make the permissions structure more efficient and evolve with the business

Act as an escalation point and source of information for Investments. Cascade information relating to new functionality and changes within the system

Continually look to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and workflow across investments as they relate to Aladdin

Desired Capabilities

Asset Management experience

Experience of working with third‑party providers

Experience of systems user access protocols

An understanding of Equity, Fixed Income, and Derivative investments

Base Pay Salary The estimated base salary for this role is $132,000‑$178,000 / year. We have a pay‑for‑performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives depending on the role.
