Overview
The
VP, Relationship Manager
in the Wealth Management Division, is responsible for growing and servicing a portfolio by delivering consultative client experience, deepening relationships, and originating new business through referrals, prospecting, and relationship reviews while delivering deposit, lending, investment, and insurance solutions in partnership with internal teams across Ocean Bank and its subsidiaries. The position ensures compliance with CIP, BSA/AML, and KYC requirements and follows all Bank policies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
Originate new business through disciplined prospecting, referrals, and relationship reviews. Manage an assigned portfolio of relationships, including loans and deposit accounts, and provide proactive, holistic support for clients’ financial needs across the relationship. Deliver timely, accurate, and solution-oriented service across phone, email, digital, and in-person channels. Coordinate loan origination and closing activities, partnering with internal teams from documentation through funding. Monitor and resolve account exceptions and past-due activity in accordance with Bank procedures and escalation standards. Complete and maintain BSA/KYC documentation (including CDD/EDD, as applicable) and perform periodic client profile reviews. Provide management with regular updates on portfolio performance, pipeline activity, client matters, and risk items. Travel within your designated market to meet prospective clients and support business development activities. Participate in bank initiatives, professional development, required training, and community/relationship-building activities that support business growth and the Bank’s presence in the market. Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of banking related experience in product sales and servicing customers in international/wealth management branch operations. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Soft Skills: In-depth knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/AML requirements. Knowledge of internal bank operations (new accounts, wire transfers, debits/credits) and banking and/or investment products to cross-sell. Must be able to travel to meet prospective clients within a designated market to support deposit growth and loan production goals. Preferable work experience in international/private banking branch environment. Knowledge of the completion of KYC. Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and verbal communication (English and Spanish) skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn internal banking systems and client relationship tools. Experience working in a sales team, and high-quality service advocacy. Preferred Experience: Formal credit training and / or experience in commercial, consumer or real estate lending. An established client portfolio. Licenses/Certifications: Series 6, 7, 65, or 66 securities license(s), and / or the State of Florida 2-14 or 2-15 insurance license(s) preferred.
