Director of Environmental Services

The Director ofEnvironmental Services oversees all aspects of environmental servicesoperations across two campuses, offsite housing, and administrative offices toensure facilities remain clean, sanitary, safe, and compliant withenvironmental and workplace safety standards. Responsibilitiesinclude but are not necessarily limited to managing housekeeping operations,environmental inspections, sanitation programs, regulatory compliance, budgetoversight, vendor management, staff supervision, payroll and time-offapprovals, oversight of resident clothing orders and the commercial laundryroom, cross-departmental collaboration, emergency planning, departmentanalysis, audits to track improvements, evaluation of equipment for efficiencyand cost savings, balancing reactive and proactive maintenance efforts, andincorporating green cleaning standards where appropriate. This position is notlimited to administrative responsibilities. The Director is expected tomaintain a regular presence in the field to supervise staff, monitor cleaningstandards, manage inventory, perform quality assurance inspections, and assistwith environmental services tasks when operational needs require. Education/Experience: Bachelor’sdegree in Facilities Management, Environmental Services, HospitalityManagement, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related fieldpreferred. Candidate without a degree but with equivalent work experience maybe considered. Minimum5–7 years of progressive experience in environmental services, housekeepingoperations, or facilities support, preferably in healthcare, residentialprograms, schools, camps, or institutional settings. Minimum3–5 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing environmentalservices or housekeeping staff. Licensure/Certification: 10-hourOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification a plus. Validdriver’s license CPRcertification or the ability to become certified (optional) Physical/Mental Requirements (ADACompliance): Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit,use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reachwith hands and arms. The employee is required to walk, talk, hear, and type. Musthave the ability to be present in a hectic environment, often under pressure. Musthave the ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs. This is a full time role with a salary range from $60,000- $70,000 annually depending on experience. Competitive benefits and time off are also offered to the incumbent.
