Job Summary The Director of the Kingsport Center for Higher Education (KCHE) provides overall leadership, management, and supervision of all aspects of the academic operations of the KCHE. The Director oversees course scheduling, event planning, and KCHE tours; acts as a liaison for the KCHE between the Blountville campus, Commission schools, and the community; and reports to the Assistant Vice President for Multi-Campus Programs.
Job Duties
Provide overall leadership, management, and supervision of all aspects of the operational and strategic planning functions of the Kingsport Center for Higher Education (KCHE), serving as a visible and community-focused leader
Assess needs and generate plans to ensure credit offerings reflect the educational needs of stakeholders, including early postsecondary opportunities resident at the KCHE such as dual enrollment and Middle College
Develop semester class schedules for the KCHE designed to promote and increase retention and offerings
Participate in student recruitment, orientation, advisement, and registration events as appropriate
Promote and market the Kingsport Center for Higher Education to the region, including but not limited to, developing and implementing recruiting and marketing strategies and materials, conducting KCHE tours, coordinating event logistics, participating in community events, serving as guest speaker, etc.
Make data-informed decisions to promote a student success-focused agenda
Develop, implement, and oversee budgetary, strategic, and technology plans for the KCHE
Complete other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Two (2) years of higher education leadership and supervisory experience
Two (2) years of strategic planning and budgeting experience
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of student advisement experience
Two (2) years of course schedule development experience
An earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage time-sensitive and highly detail-oriented projects
Responsive to stakeholders’ requests
Proficient functioning in a team-oriented environment
