Directions from I‑5: Take the So. 38th St West exit on the left toward Tacoma Mall/WA‑16/Gig Harbor/Bremerton; take the 6th Ave exit off WA‑16; turn right onto 6th Ave.; turn right onto Shirley St to park.

Volunteer eligibility: Ages 16‑99. Those younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or job coach.

Hours: Business Office: Tue & Thu, 9:30 am – 6 pm; Wed, 9:30 am – 4 pm.

Call for more information. A background check is conducted on all volunteers at no cost.

Fees: None.

Service area: Pierce, WA.

Purpose: Provides an opportunity to complete community service hours for those required through school, court or state agency. It also offers opportunities for volunteers who wish to donate their time. Volunteers help use their creative skills to produce toys that bring smiles to children. Volunteering can be from 1 to 20 hours weekly.

Toy Rescue Mission restores new "life" to previously loved toys. After refurbishment, the toys are donated to needy children throughout Pierce County and to social service agencies such as battered women’s shelters. Primary services include birthday gifts, Easter baskets, back‑to‑school, and Christmas gifts. Volunteers are welcome.
