
Manager Transaction Tax

This is your chance to be part of a Finance Team that is a critical business partner that manages all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. As the Manager, Transaction Tax, you will report to the Director, Transaction Tax. You will be responsible for ensuring that Hilton corporate and Hilton’s affiliated companies are in compliance with state and local sales, use, and business license tax laws. You will research and respond to requests for tax information by internal customers and taxing authorities, resolving compliance issues with taxing authorities. As well as coordinate corporate sales, use, and business license tax audit communicating issues and audit findings to the Audit Manager.
What you'll do during a typical day:
Perform tax research on special projects including new business for corporate locations advising all parties as required or as required for hotel operations
Manage direct reports, processes, activities, and tasks of the Corporate Transaction Tax team to ensure U.S. tax compliance and quarterly provision deadlines are met
Direct the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance for departmental systems and software to include the custom-designed computerized tax return system working closely with IT to fully explain department needs. Also, train and retrain departmental team members on the systems and software
Conduct tax research and document findings/positions
Draft preliminary tax policies and procedures for corporate locations
How you’ll collaborate with others:
Respond to requests for tax information by internal customers and taxing jurisdictions
Consult with non-tax functional groups such as Treasury, Accounting, and Legal to further departmental and company objectives
Resolve any compliance issues with taxing authorities
Interact with team members, corporate accountants, and hotel team members.
Work with Tax Tech on process improvements
Deliverables you'll take ownership of:
Identify or assist to improve operations or streamline processes
Lead the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance for departmental systems and software to include the custom-designed computerized tax return system working closely with IT to fully explain department needs. Also, train and retrain departmental team members on the systems and software
Perform tax research on special projects including new business for corporate locations advising all parties as required or as required for hotel operations
Draft preliminary tax policies and procedures for corporate locations
What It Takes to Make the Stay You have these minimum qualifications:
Five (5) years of general ledger accounting experience
Three (3) years of multi-state sales and use tax experience
One (1) year of supervisory experience leading people, projects or initiatives
It would be useful if you have:
BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
Experience with lodging or hospitality industry tax and audit
License/Certification: CPA, CMI

The pay range for this role is $80,000 – $110,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company. #LI-REMOTE
