By emphasizing ONE Park, ONE Mission, One Team, the Senior Commercial Portfolio Analyst oversees the commercial loan portfolio by conducting annual reviews, providing financial analysis, and assessing credit risks for new and existing members. This role ensures compliance with lending policies, evaluates complex financial statements and tax returns, and approves or denies loan requests within established guidelines. The Senior MBL Portfolio Analyst performs due diligence and represents the credit union at quarterly meetings. Additionally, the position involves recommending policy updates and staying informed on relevant laws and regulations to minimize risk and enhance portfolio performance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the annual review process for the commercial loan portfolio. Perform annual reviews on all size exposures. Continue to enhance the existing annual review identification and process, with focus on increased efficiencies.

Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing members for credit origination and/or annual reviews. Review and analyze complex financial statements and tax returns submitted by current and prospective members while evaluating their ability to repay. Work with originators to determine and resolve situations where changes in structure may be necessary due to the member, market or industry changes. Approve or deny loan requests per credit union guidelines.

Assist in underwriting commercial loan types, field questions from other underwriters, and provide training to help further develop annual review staff.

Work with management to recommend changes to commercial policies and procedures as needed.

Stay abreast of all laws and regulations as they relate to lending. Ensure all lending activities are in compliance to minimize credit union risk.
