Project Director – System Transformation

Overview

The Project Director leads complex, cross functional projects that drive system and operational transformation. This role is responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of multiple initiatives while ensuring alignment with business goals, quality standards, and long term sustainability. The Project Director works closely with executive stakeholders, project leaders, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project and Scope Management

  • Define and manage project scope, deliverables, timelines, and success metrics
  • Oversee work plans and integration points across multiple initiatives
  • Manage scope changes and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Ensure projects transition smoothly to operational ownership

Risk, Issue, and Quality Oversight

  • Identify and manage project risks and issues
  • Develop mitigation and escalation strategies
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations
  • Oversee testing, validation, and documentation
  • Executive Communication and Governance

    • Provide regular project updates to leadership and stakeholders
    • Prepare executive summaries, dashboards, and presentations
    • Facilitate decision making and issue resolution
    • Lead governance and steering committee meetings as needed

    Leadership and Collaboration

    • Lead multidisciplinary project teams with minimal oversight
    • Mentor and guide project managers and team members
    • Partner with subject matter experts to resolve challenges
    • Align project efforts with broader organizational initiatives

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Identify key stakeholders and ensure appropriate engagement
    • Coordinate resources across teams to support project success

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

    Experience

    • 5 to 7 years of experience in project or program management, healthcare operations, consulting, or system transformation
    • Experience leading complex, cross functional initiatives
