Cerberus Technology Solutions (CTS) is the firm’s internal technology, data, and AI organization, partnering directly with investment teams and portfolio companies to drive better decisions and operational outcomes. CTS operates with the agility of a small, senior team embedded within a global investment platform, with a focus on delivering measurable value through technology and AI.

Job Purpose

Cerberus is seeking a VP, AI Value Creation Strategy to sit at the intersection of private equity, operations, and applied AI. This role is focused on driving measurable value from AI across Cerberus’s Private Equity and Supply Chain portfolios, both during diligence and throughout the ownership lifecycle.

The role partners closely with deal teams, operating partners, and portfolio company leadership to identify where AI can create real commercial and operational impact, and to lead those initiatives from concept through execution.

This is a senior, hands‑on role with a strong “operator” orientation, where success is defined by judgment, credibility, and the ability to translate AI capabilities into tangible business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI workstreams in diligence by partnering with deal teams to assess data readiness, identify value creation opportunities, and quantify AI-driven upside
  • Translate AI capabilities into investment-relevant insights, including revenue growth, cost efficiency, and operational resilience
  • Design and execute AI-enabled value creation initiatives across portfolio companies, from initial pilots through scaled deployment
  • Partner directly with portfolio company executives (CEO, COO, CIO) to embed AI into core business workflows and decision‑making processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across investment teams, operating partners, and portfolio leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor, balancing ambition with feasibility and ensuring initiatives are grounded in business impact
  • Stay close to execution by shaping problem statements, reviewing approaches, and ensuring high-quality delivery
  • Collaborate closely with CTS engineers, data scientists, and product teams to translate strategy into scalable solutions
  • Contribute to the evolution of Cerberus’s firm‑wide AI strategy, including tooling, playbooks, and repeatable value creation frameworks
  • Bring external perspective on how leading private equity firms and consultancies are leveraging AI for competitive advantage

Requirements

  • Private equity or PE-adjacent experience, including roles within a PE firm, portfolio operations team, or top-tier consultancy serving PE clients
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML and GenAI concepts, with experience delivering or overseeing AI-enabled initiatives in real-world business settings
  • Proven ability to link analytics and AI efforts to tangible business outcomes such as revenue growth, cost reduction, or operational improvement
  • Experience working directly with senior stakeholders, including investment professionals and C-suite executives
  • Strong problem-solving and structured thinking skills, with the ability to operate in complex, ambiguous environments
  • Hands‑on, execution-oriented mindset with a willingness to engage deeply in the substance of problems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business insights
  • Experience mentoring or informally leading teams is a plus, but not required
