Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 annually + Bonus Potential
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Director of Information Technology (IT) to lead end‑to‑end IT operations, infrastructure, and architecture across a multi‑site specialty healthcare organization.
This role is responsible for owning the full IT ecosystem, including hybrid infrastructure (on‑premises + Azure cloud), systems architecture, networking, and security. The ideal candidate is a technical leader with strong Microsoft ecosystem expertise who can operate at both a strategic and execution level while leading a team and scaling IT platforms across multiple clinical sites.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure Leadership
- Own day‑to‑day IT operations across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and support services
- Oversee hybrid environment including on‑prem systems and Azure cloud platforms
- Manage IT service delivery including help desk, infrastructure, and cloud operations
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all IT systems
- Lead end‑to‑end IT architecture across systems, infrastructure, and platforms
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and modern IT environments
- Drive standardization of systems across multiple clinic locations
- Build and scale IT platforms to support organizational growth
- Own Azure environment (IaaS and PaaS) including design, deployment, and optimization
- Manage Microsoft ecosystem including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server
- Support identity, access management, and cloud governance strategies
Multi‑Site Integration & Expansion
- Lead onboarding of new clinic locations and IT environments
- Manage post‑acquisition IT integrations and system transitions
- Ensure seamless connectivity and system alignment across all sites
Networking & Infrastructure
- Oversee networking infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and SD‑WAN
- Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
- Ensure infrastructure supports clinical and operational systems across locations
Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and related standards
- Implement and maintain secure IT environments across endpoints, networks, and cloud
- Partner with leadership on risk management, audits, and compliance initiatives
ITIL & Process Optimization
- Implement and maintain ITIL‑based processes for incident, problem, and change management
- Drive operational efficiency, documentation, and process standardization
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 10 IT professionals
- Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and execution
- Balance hands‑on technical leadership with people management responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership and clinical teams to align IT initiatives with business needs
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
- Proven experience in multi‑site specialty healthcare environments (e.g., dermatology, surgical, oncology, neurology, orthopedic)
- Strong hands‑on expertise in IT infrastructure and systems architecture
- Experience owning end‑to‑end IT operations and execution
- Deep knowledge of hybrid environments (on‑premises + Azure cloud)
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft 365 stack
- Active Directory
- Windows Server
- Networking (firewalls, VPNs, SD‑WAN)
- Backup and disaster recovery systems
- Experience onboarding new sites and integrating IT environments post‑acquisition
- Strong understanding of systems architecture, platform design, and infrastructure scaling
- Experience supporting clinical systems across multiple locations
- Proven ability to operate with urgency, structure, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation tools and infrastructure optimization
- Familiarity with enterprise IT standardization across distributed environments
- Experience supporting healthcare‑specific systems and workflows
