JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES A Photographer III operates under general supervision and is responsible for capturing, processing, and delivering high-quality digital imagery and video. This role combines technical photography skills with modern digital workflows, including editing, asset management, and equipment maintenance. This position supports both field and studio production using current imaging technologies. Key Responsibilities: Plan, set up, and operate professional digital cameras, lenses, and lighting systems for both ground and aerial photography, including still images and video content. Capture high-quality visual content in a variety of environments, ensuring proper exposure, composition, and color accuracy. Edit and process images and video using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud), including color correction, retouching, and formatting for multiple platforms. Manage digital assets, including file organization, metadata tagging, archiving, and retrieval in accordance with established standards. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of cameras, lighting equipment, and digital workflow systems. Assist in maintaining studio and lab environments, ensuring all equipment is operational and up to date. Follow established procedures and technical guidelines to complete assignments of moderate scope, while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Adapt to evolving technologies and workflows, incorporating new tools and techniques as needed. Collaborate with team members and customers to ensure project requirements are met. Work is performed in a studio, field, and remote environments. May involve travel, variable lighting/weather conditions, and moderate noise levels. Extended periods of computer-based editing and file management are required. Perform other related duties as assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in modern digital photography and video equipment, including DSLR/mirrorless systems, lighting setups, and related accessories. Experience with industry-standard editing and asset management software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud), including image processing, color correction, and file optimization. Working knowledge of digital asset management practices, including metadata standards, file organization, and archiving procedures. Familiarity with operational protocols such as documentation standards, file handling procedures, and (if applicable) security or classification guidelines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce accurate captions, reports, and documentation. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in structured, deadline-driven environments. Willingness and ability to travel as required, including support of field operations and remote environments. Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, tools, and mission requirements. A digital or print portfolio is recommended for interview review. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of four (4) to eight (8) years of professional experience in photography, digital imaging, photo lab operations or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Photography, Digital Imaging, Visual Communications, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $60,320.00 to $64,480.00 annually. Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. WORKING CONDITIONS This position involves work primarily in a lab environment and may require working outdoors, remaining overnight, on weekends, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance). Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4 owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval from the shop manager.
