The Impact and Responsibilities: Impact:
The Director, Sales & Relationship Manager within Structured Finance, will own and expand senior client relationships, drive revenue and retention across assigned accounts, and contribute to broader team priorities through disciplined execution, market insight, and sound judgment. Bringing an enterprise mindset, anticipating stakeholder needs, aligning internal resources, and engaging clients with credibility on capital markets dynamics and credit fundamentals. Responsibilities: Lead issuer relationships across CMBS, RMBS, and ABS, delivering consistent, high-quality client service while building trusted-advisor relationships with senior decision-makers.
Set and execute strategic account plans that translate market/sector context into clear commercial priorities, measurable outcomes, and coordinated internal actions.
Drive revenue growth and retention by articulating S&P Global Ratings' value proposition, advising on fit-for-purpose solutions, and positioning Ratings products in alignment with client needs and market conditions.
Conduct commercial negotiations with structured finance clients, demonstrating strong judgment, disciplined risk awareness, and effective stakeholder management.
Own conference strategy and outreach, including meeting planning with issuers and bank intermediaries; represent S&P Global Ratings with executive presence and a consultative approach.
Maintain a rigorous operating cadence: manage pipeline and opportunity stages in CRM, ensure data integrity, and provide accurate forecasting and timely follow-up, setting a standard for operational excellence.
Identify cross-sell and multi-solution opportunities by developing a holistic view of client objectives and coordinating across internal partners to deliver integrated outcomes.
Provide actionable market feedback (sector trends, competitor signals, client priorities) to S&P Global Ratings leadership through clear written updates and timely ad-hoc reporting, influencing commercial focus and coverage strategy.
Manage competing priorities with composure, balance client requests, internal deliverables, travel, and scheduling demands while maintaining responsiveness and quality.
Demonstrate adaptability and change leadership. adjust coverage approach as market conditions, organizational priorities, or client dynamics evolve; help others stay aligned through clear communication and practical problem-solving.
Operate in strict adherence to regulatory, compliance, and commercial separation requirements.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information ( only applicable to U.S. candidates):
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $102,387 to $175,000. The final base salary will depend on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For Basic Required Qualifications: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 8+ years of relevant experience in sales, relationship management, or client service within a financial services environment.
Deep understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, and credit fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to assess business impact and prioritize focuses time and resources on the highest-value opportunities, balances short-term execution with long-term relationship health, and uses data and judgment to guide decisions.
Strong power skills: executive-level communication (written/verbal), presence, negotiation, influencing without authority, and the ability to align stakeholders to outcomes.
High emotional intelligence builds trust, reads stakeholder dynamics, manages conflict constructively, and navigates sensitive conversations with professionalism and composure.
Strong attention to detail and discipline around CRM usage, reporting, and internal processes; consistently drives clarity, accuracy, and follow-through.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with variability in day-to-day objectives; able to stay organized, agile, and accountable.
Master's degree preferred (Finance, Economics, or related field).
U.S. travel required.
