Summary This position represents a premier global manufacturer specializing in advanced metal forming technologies, including high-precision casting and injection molding processes. The organization is recognized for delivering complex, engineered component solutions to a diverse international clientele. The Business Development Specialist will focus on driving market growth, managing technical client requirements, and serving as a critical link between local customers and the organization's global engineering and production resources, including the headquarters in Japan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead efforts to identify and develop new business opportunities; utilize CRM tools to systematically grow the customer network and expand market presence.
Communicate directly with customers to define project requirements, manufacturing methods, and component specifications (primarily online but some in-person visits).
Analyze 3D CAD models and 2D drawings to interpret customer needs and ensure the delivery of accurate, competitive project proposals.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams at the Japan Headquarters and other global locations to discuss and refine complex project scopes.
Oversee manufacturing activities across various group production sites to successfully establish first orders, including the management of molds and tooling.
Utilize basic metrology instruments and apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to evaluate customer component quality.
Facilitate in-house prototyping processes, specifically metal molding and casting techniques, to validate and optimize customer designs.
Perform additional duties as required to support the growth and efficiency of the sales department.
Qualifications The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with a strong technical aptitude in metallurgy or precision manufacturing and the ability to navigate a multicultural corporate environment. There are no specific technical requirements or previous work experience as long as you are eager to learn new things.
Bilingual English and Japanese skills (Japanese: a minimum of conversational Japanese to communicate verbally with the Japan headquarters).
Ability to interpret 3D CAD models, 2D technical drawings, and GD&T specifications (Preferred; not required).
Prior experience in industrial sales, specifically within casting, molding, or precision component manufacturing. (Preferred; not required)
Proficiency in CRM software and basic metrology equipment. (Preferred; not required)
The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
