The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL) is a nonpartisan coalition composed of young professionals and foreign policy experts committed to strengthening U.S. global leadership through strategic investments in development. Our mission is to demonstrate how foreign aid bolsters national security, safeguards public health by preventing global crises, and promotes economic growth. A4AL members actively engage in advocating for policy changes and supporting congressional campaigns aligned with our vision for effective global leadership. Role Description
This is a full-time, volunteer-based Political Strategy Intern role located on-site in Lorton, VA. The intern will support the development and implementation of political strategies by conducting research, analyzing policies, drafting position papers, and preparing briefing materials. Responsibilities also include assisting with communications, maintaining databases, collaborating with team members on events, and supporting grassroots advocacy initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on experience in political operations and leadership development in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Qualifications
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Knowledge of U.S. foreign policy, development, and political advocacy Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in digital tools and software for presentations, document creation, and research Experience in event planning and facilitating grassroots outreach Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, mission-driven team Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field Demonstrated commitment to the goals and mission of A4AL
