Assistant Professor of Public Relations
Position open for tenured track in Public Relations at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2026. The department seeks a scholar with an emerging research program and a strong commitment to teaching. Recent professional experience in the public relations industry or applied digital communication is preferred. VISA sponsorship is available for this position.
Responsibilities
Teaching three courses per semester.
Advising students.
Maintaining an active program of disciplinary research.
Participating in departmental, university, and professional service.
Qualifications
Terminal degree in public relations, communication, or a related field.
Emerging research program.
Strong commitment to teaching.
Experience in the public relations industry or applied digital communication (preferred).
ABD considered under the following conditions:
Evidence of successful defense of the dissertation must be received by July 31 for a fall hire or November 30 for a spring hire.
If the defense confirmation is not provided by the deadline, the candidate will receive a one‑year fixed‑term contract and be hired at the rank of Instructor with a reduced salary.
If degree verification is provided before the end of the one‑year fixed‑term contract, the candidate will be returned to the rank of Assistant Professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1 of the following academic year.
