About the Role This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Lakeville studio. As Architect of Record, you’ll serve as the licensed professional responsible for reviewing and stamping construction documents — but at DCD, your role goes far beyond that.
You’ll work directly with our principal and design team on high-end custom homes, collaborating with top-tier builders and discerning clients across Minnesota and beyond. In our boutique environment, you’ll be involved at every stage — from early concept through final documentation and client interaction.
This is a role for someone who values ownership, craftsmanship, and being deeply involved in the work.
What You’ll Do
Serve as Architect of Record, reviewing and stamping construction documents
Collaborate closely with our design and drafting team from concept through CDs
Work directly with clients and builders, communicating with clarity and professionalism
Navigate permitting and code requirements (local and out-of-state projects)
Take ownership of projects — proactively solving problems and driving progress
What We’re Looking For
Licensed Architect in the State of Minnesota (required)
Experience in high-end custom residential design
Strong initiative and self-direction — you don’t wait to be told what’s next
Collaborative mindset — you thrive in a tight-knit, team-oriented environment
Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a boutique studio setting
Based in the Twin Cities and available for full-time, in-office work
