MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants Required Experience

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Certification or enrollment in a Post Master’s ACNP program within one year of hire, or Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C). Physical Requirements

Regularly sit, stand, walk, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Shift

Day shift; 7 × 12‑hour shifts per biweekly pay period; may require rotation of night‑shift coverage as needed. Job Summary

The APP works within adult ICU, progressive care, and acute care areas and is an integral member of the multidisciplinary health‑care team. The APP primarily manages critically and acutely ill adults and serves as a resource throughout UKHC for intensive care interventions. The APP is generally on a service‑aligned team and manages day‑to‑day patient care from the emergency department for trauma alerts, ICU level care, step‑down, to discharge. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for the same patient population as they return for follow‑up in the outpatient setting. The position is primarily on day shift, with night coverage requirements as needed. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence‑based practice and education and is responsible for ensuring an environment of safe, quality care. The APP demonstrates advanced medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism, timely documentation, and responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. Preferred Qualifications
